A group of five sprinters, hurdlers and multi-events will be making the trip to Lincoln for the Husker Invitational. Among the Cyclone men entries is a debutant in James Ezeonu. From Cork, Ireland, Ezeonu enrolled at ISU in January and owns an outdoor personal best of 21.60 in the 200-meter dash run last summer. He is entered in the 200m and the 60-meter hurdles.
At Notre Dame, five Cyclones will take to the track among some strong middle distance fields. In the men's 800-meter run, Frank Hayes, Alex Lomong and Nehemia Too are all among the top-25 nationally heading into the weekend in the 800m and will be looking to improve on those rankings again. Hayes is the high ranker of the group, his 1:48.99 at the Cyclone Open two weeks ago has him on the NCAA Indoor Championships bubble in 16th at 1:48.99. Lomong went 1:49.23 at the Cyclone Open, having him 22nd, while Too went 1:49.08 at the ISU Holiday Invite in December to sit 19th.
In the men's mile, the Cyclones have three strong entries in a race that has been among the fastest and deepest in the country in 2022. The headliner is Wesley Kiptoo, who will be back on the track after competing at the Millrose Games in New York last week. Kiptoo enters the weekend 67th nationally in the mile with his 4:01.85 at the Cyclone Open on Jan. 22. Too is entered in both races, coming into the weekend at 99th in the mile in 4:04.31, while Rop is 129th nationally with his 4:05.86 from the Razorback Invitational last weekend.
