AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State men's golf team placed 15th after the final round of the Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minn. The Cyclones carded rounds of 286, 288 and 291 for an 865 three-round total.

Luke Gutschewski led the way for the Cyclones, placing in a tie for 18th place. Gutschewski knocked in 12 birdies en route to a four-under, 210 through three rounds.

Senior, Nate Vance, finished second on the team after firing a career-low 67 to finish in a tie for 33rd place in the medalist race. Vance recorded five birdies to one bogey during his final round.

Competing in his second career tournament, Kyo Morishita posted rounds of 72, 70 and 77 for a 219 three-round tally.

The Zach Johnson Invitational is West Des Moines, Iowa is next up on the Cyclones schedule. The tournament will begin with 36 holes on Sept. 26 and will conclude with the final 18 holes on Sept. 27
