AMES, Iowa – The Cyclones head to Central College for the Dutch Invitational in Pella, Iowa this Friday, April 7.

The Cyclones begin competition at 11 a.m. with the hammer throw while running events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Throwers will compete in the shot put, discus, hammer and javelin. Cyclones are also entered in the long jump, high jump and hurdling events. In running events, Iowa State men will take on the 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1,500m.
Last week, the women's 4x400-meter relay broke the school record with 3:35.58, the first time racing in the event this outdoor season, while Zach Podraza put up the third-best javelin performance in ISU history with 223-10 (68.23m) at the Texas Relays. At the Stanford Invitational, distance runners recorded five top-10 program performances. Many had double-digit personal record time drops, including Gable Sieperda's 19 second PR (13:40.04) and Kelvin Bungei's 28-second PR (13:52.57) in the 5,000m.
Cailie Logue raced to 15:36.40 in the 5,000m, the fastest-ranked time in the Big 12, fifth-ranked in the NCAA and 12th-ranked in the world this season. Her time was a nearly four-second personal record and the No. 3 time in Iowa State history. Ezekiel Rop also had a PR in the 1,500m as he won his section with 3:40.96, the eighth fastest in program history. Rop's time ranks first in the Big 12, 10th in the NCAA and 26th in the world.
Following the Dutch Invitational, the Bryan Clay Invitational, Mt. Sac Relays, Long Beach Invitational and Pacific Coast Intercollegiate are next for the Cyclones April 13-15 in California.
