AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's golf team wrapped up the 2022-23 season with Luke Gutschewski competing at the NCAA Norman Regional.Â
KEY STORYLINES
-Luke Gutschewski finished in a tie for 23rd at the NCAA Norman Regional as an individual selection.Â
-Gutschewski joins Scott Fernandez as the second sophomore in school history to earn a selection.Â
-This season, Gutschewski led the team in scoring at 70.78 and birdies with 129, while also earning four top-10 finishes.Â
-Gutschewski concluded the regular season ranked No. 106 by Golfstat and No. 162 according to Golfweek.Â
-On the Cyclones' all-time career stroke average list, Gutschewski sits in second with a 71.94 scoring average.Â
-Head coach Andrew Tank now has had five golfers qualify for an NCAA Regional as an individual selection.
-Iowa State concluded the Big 12 Championship in 10th place after carding a 1190 four-round total.
-Paul Beauvy finished in a tie for 21st at the Big 12 Championship after carding a 291 72-hole total.
-Beauvy's 291 (72-74-73-72) tally was the eighth-lowest 72-hole score in program history.
-Iowa State finished fourth at the Hawkeye Invitational with a 855 (286-287-282) final total.
-Beauvy earned his second top-five finish after placing fifth with a 209 (69-72-68) three round total.
-Gutschewski and Zach May each finished in a tie for 16th place after carding 215 tallies.Â
-May set his new career best 18-hole score (71), 54-hole score (215) and finish (T16) at the Hawkeye Invitational.
-Iowa State finished the season ranked No. 95 nationally according to Golfweek and Golfstat.Â
