AMES, Iowa?Three Cyclones golfers were named academic All-American for the 2006-07 season. Jessica Shin, a senior on the Cyclone women's team, and Chris Baker and Rodney Hamblin, members of the men's team, earned academic All-America honors from National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) and the Cleveland Golf All-America (CGAA) team, respectively.
Shin, a native of Mankato, Minn., made the NGCA team by maintaining at least a 3.50 GPA and participating in 50 percent of the team's regularly scheduled meets. Shin, who earned her third-consecutive academic All-America honor, ranked fourth on the team in stroke average last year with a 79.68 clip.
Members of the CGAA team had to earn a 3.2 cumulative GPA and obtain a stroke average of under 76.0. Baker, a senior from Brownstown, Ind., led ISU in stroke average at 73.17. Hamblin, who hails from St. Paul, Minn., finished his Cyclone career in the spring after registering a 75.28 stroke average.
