Iowa State Finishes Seventh at Wolverine Invite

ANN ARBOR, Mich.- The Iowa State men's golf team finished seventh in a 14-team field at the Wolverine Invitational this afternoon. The Cyclones shot a 6-over par 870 for the three-round tournament. Michigan won the event on its home course carding an 840, while the second-place finisher, Arkansas, finished with an 847.

Ben Herrera led the way for the Cyclones, finishing in a tie for 11th place, firing a 213 for the weekend. Herrera finished the tournament with a 69 this afternoon. Also scoring well for Iowa State was Nathan Leary, who's 219 was good enough to earn him a tie for 23rd place. Jamie Marshall of Arkansas was the tournament champion with a 206.

ISU's Jacob Aaholm was a contributor in his first event as a Cyclone, finishing in a tie for 28th place (221).

The Cyclones will compete in the McDonald Cup in New Haven, Conn. Oct. 3rd.
