Iowa State Places Eighth At Fighting Irish Classic

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Iowa State men's golf team moved up to eighth place after carding a final-round 282 at the Fighting Irish Classic.
The Cyclones were one of four teams under par in the final round (-2) and ended the tournament with a 54-hole total of 866.
Notre Dame won the tournament at 836, a stroke better then North Carolina (837).
Tripp Kinney was consistent all week, firing rounds of 70-71-70 for a 211 total to tie for ninth in the medalist race. It was Kinney's second top-10 of the season and the 10th of his career.
Lachlan Barker tied for 18th at 213, carding rounds of 72-70-71. Frank Lindwall tied for 40th (221), but made a nice jump with a final-round 69, the lowest round by a Cyclone during the week.
The Cyclones wrap up their fall golf season this weekend at the Big 12 Match Play.
