Cyclone Golfers Earn Academic All-Big 12 Recognition

IRVING, Texas – Ten Iowa State golfers were named to the 2021 Academic All-Big 12 announced today by the Big 12 office.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.230 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20% of their team's scheduled contests.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
Four Cyclone women golfers made the first team in Amelia Grohn (Sr.), Joy Chou (Jr.), Ruby Chou (Fr.) and Liyana Durisic (Fr.). Taglao Jeeravivitaporn (So.) was a second-teamer.
Grohn is a four-time recipient of first team honors.
Five men's golfers made the first team in Tripp Kinney (Sr.), Lachlan Barker (Jr.), Ricky Costello (Jr.), Frank Lindwall (Jr.) and Bryce Hammer (So.).
Kinney is also a four-time recipient of first team honors.
