Iowa State Prepares for Gopher Invitational

AMES, Iowa – Fresh off a win at the Iowa Fall Classic earlier this week, the Iowa State men's golf team will continue their season Sunday, Sept. 10 at the Gopher Invitational.

The Lineup (Alphabetically): Paul Beauvy, Luke Gutschewski, Zach May, Owen Sawyer, Dianchao Wu

The Course: One of the top-rated golf courses in Minnesota, and with new national recognition as one of the top modern courses, Windsong Farm spans over 7,586 yards. The course is different than any other golf course that you will see in the state of Minnesota because of its ever-changing winds.

From the Notes:

The Cyclones won their first tournament of the season at the Iowa Fall Classic. The victory was the first win since the 2018 Hawkeye Invitational.
Zach May carded a career three-round low of 213 at the Iowa Fall Classic, including a career-low 69 in the first round.
On the Cyclones' all-time career stroke average list, Gutschewski sits in first with a 71.80 scoring average.
Two single-season scoring records were broken last year, as Gutschewski broke the single-season scoring average and Beauvy had the best average by a freshman in school history. Gutschewski shot a 70.78, while Beauvy had an average of 71.94.
Iowa State concluded the 2023 Big 12 Championship in 10^th place after carding an 1190 four-round total.

Minnesota Golf Classic: A pair of Cyclones will also be competing in the Minnesota Golf Classic on Saturday and Sunday. Lukas Pany and Nippit Klinsrisuk will compete as individuals in the field.
