AMES, Iowa – Iowa State is set to begin the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Championships Feb. 24-25 hosted by Texas Tech.
Action begins Friday with multi events at 10 a.m. Running and field events start at 3 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, multi events continue at 11 a.m. followed by field events at 1 p.m. and running events at 2 p.m.
Competition both days will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Live results are provided by PrimeTime Timing.
This season, four school records have fallen and 36 top-10 program performances or improvements to standings have been handed in by the men and women.
Iowa State currently has three in NCAA Championship qualifying position. Jason Gómez holds the fourth-ranking 800-meter run time in the nation (1:46.53) while Cebastian Gentil ranks seventh (1:46.75). Darius Kipyego is .05 seconds off a qualifying position in 18th with 1:47.38. The current 16th-place bubble time stands at 1:47.31.
Cam Jones has held a qualifying spot in the weight throw since Jan. 21 when he threw his school record of 72-11 1/4 at the Cyclone Open. The mark currently ranks at No. 11.
Cailie Logue enters the Championships as the three-time defending champ in the 5,000-meter run (2020-22) and took the 3,000m title in 2020. Throughout her career, Logue has earned 11 Big 12 titles in track and field and cross country and the High Point Award in 2020 and 2022.
